Thank you for your interest in doing corrections work. The approval process may be take up to six months. months.
Lake County Jail requires all volunteers to complete a course on the “Prison Rape Elimination Act. (PREA)” This is an on-line course that concludes with a test. A downloadable certificate is presented to those that pass with a score of 80% or more.
A study guide, sample test questions and instructions for enrolling in the course are included in the “Prea Test Instruction” document listed below.
That certificate and copies of the front and back of your driver’s license, Prea Acknowedgement, Security Clearance Application and Oreientation Handbook must be submitted together.
When completed, email all the documents to corrections@district10nia.org.
